Clubs based in Sweden, France, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland. There are three Galway players on this panel: Kevin Carey, Kevin Keary and Barry Heffernan. In recent years the development of Gaelic Games in Europe has picked up pace, with new clubs being set up in Maastricht, Budapest, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Pamplona, Valencia and Vienna. Along with these, there have also been new clubs set up in Lyon and other locations in Brittany in France. The success of these clubs is proven by the fact that since 2006: • The European Hurling Championship now extends over four rounds and also includes an inter-county invitational event each year. • A Camogie Championship was formed in 2008. • New clubs are under development in various locations and if you are in a city/region where there is no club yet registered, please do not hesitate to get in touch as the European County Board may have local contacts in your area. GAA in Europe is controlled by the European County Board (ECB). The ECB is proud to be part of this wonderful Hurling Festival in Galway and the chance to test their skills against other similar selections.
